Dr. Helena Workneh, PT, DPT, earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Howard University in 2017. She is an Ethiopian native who moved to Chicago in 1996 then later relocated to DC to pursue her studies in Physical Therapy. Helena’s passion for movement, meditation, and body awareness drives both her personal and professional life.

Currently, she provides PT care in a Sports Medicine Clinic in White Oak, MD, and instructs yoga and stretch services at BYW Studios in DC & MD. With over 12 years of yoga practice and teaching experience, she aims to bridge the gap between rehabilitative and preventative care in the clinical and studio settings. Helena spends her free time practicing yoga, exercising, enjoying music & art festivals and traveling. She resides in DC with her sister Gelane, their pup Gizeh, and Pumpkin the kitty.
